| One
of Sika-Trocal’s latest projects was an urban development in
Urmston, Manchester, thanks to Licensed Roofing Contractors,
FCB Building and Roofing and Robertson Roofing. |

| The
2-stage development in the town centre included a
supermarket, club, several restaurants, local library, car
park and housing. |

While much of the retail
development in the UK for the last 20 years has been
directed to out of town retail super-sites such as the
Trafford Centre, which also benefited from a Sika-Trocal
solution, urban developments are now moving towards the top
of the agenda for town planners. |
|
These new developments pose
additional challenges in that roofing contractors need to be
proven, such as FCB Building and Roofing and Robertson
Roofing who have both worked on projects for a number of
blue chip clients. In addition, products specified need to
perform and allow for speed and simplicity in installation
as this project shows. For the local residents of Urmston,
the Sika-Trocal concept meant less impact and disruption on
their daily lives. |

The architect on the project was
urban specialist Broadway Malyan and the main contractor was
Carillion. |
