Insulation products specialist
Dow Building Solutions has expanded its range of ROOFMATE
SL-A STYROFOAM in response to industry demands. |
 |
|
The famous blue extruded
polystyrene insulation foam – manufactured in the UK at
Dow’s STYROFOAM plant in King’s Lynn - is now available in
thicknesses up to 200mm as roofing contractors aim to
support developers in meeting increasing thermal efficiency
targets. |
|
ROOFMATE SL-A - which is only
available from Dow Building Solutions and its distributors -
has high compressive strength, excellent water resistance
and long term durability, making it the first choice of some
of the UK’s biggest names in roofing. |
|
The product was used in major
developments such as the Westfield shopping centre in White
City, The Elements retail park in Livingstone, the revamp of
Union Square in Aberdeen and is currently being installed on
several Olympic Park projects. |
|
ROOFMATE SL-A is an ideal
solution for insulating flat, inverted roofs as the
insulation boards are unaffected by conditions encountered
in such environments, including wide fluctuations in
temperature and repeated freeze/thaw cycles. It’s intended
for use on heavyweight decks such as reinforced concrete
with a ballast layer of gravel or concrete slabs. |
|
ROOFMATE SL-A can also be used
in Dow’s ROOFMATE MinK system, which reduces the
rain water cooling penalty and helps minimise the insulation
thickness required. |
|
All of Dow’s STYROFOAM-A
products use carbon dioxide as the main blowing agent,
resulting in an Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) of zero and
a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than five. |
