These calculations are relevant for mechanically fixed polymer-based single layer roofing and bituminous mechanically fixed systems.
We have carried out the calculations detailed in the standard for some of the main roof configurations likely to be encountered in practice. The calculations are based on the Standard Method.
We have then calculated the minimum number of fixings required based on a design figure of 0.4 kN per fixings. The results of the calculations are shown in a series of tables. The results are generally conservative, and often a more rigorous calculation may produce lower fixing numbers.
